For really! They WANT this to be an age of terror. It keeps us afraid and reliant on more police, more clandestine action by the police AND state, and ultimately more controls superimposed over our freedoms to “protect” from THEM. “Them” being our selves. Those freedoms sure do prove to be inconvenient sometimes. Especially for those who’re trying to keep us poor and stupid and working our lives away (or risking our lives if you’re in the military) to line another man’s pockets with your blood money.
This incident can be interpreted two ways.
The first: that this over-reaction to a silly advertisement, really was just a mistake, and a consequently has shone people that there is a huge abuse of power taking place and it is indeed more frightening implications than actual BOMBS. Even people that are normally tuned out to our civil state have taken notice.
The second interpretation is not as optimistic: that this fiasco was not only allowed to happen, but that it was PLANNED. For the very reason to show us “Yes, we are not playing around anymore, and we will bring down anyone for anything at any time that we choose” implying that the decades of the disempowerment and emasculation of Americans has at last reached the point where we are not even expected to question authority anymore. That our masters will tell us to “shut up” and we will. This message is rally an open threat to all of us. And I find it very disturbing and frankly, very insulting.
But regardless scenario one or scenario two, this needs to happen to wake us up so we can start doing some heavy duty dissenting.
