I know that I’ve been absent from the scene for some time now, largely because every change made by SU just ran her further and further into the ground.
This new phalanx of alterations serves only to hammer in those last few nails into the coffin.
Although my activity has been little more than lurking for this last year, I am very sad to see the old girl die. In those heady early days of CSS themes and posting youtube videos or music player; I learned allot, had a thousand laughs, and made virtual friends with people around the globe. It may sound romantic, but I consider it a significant time in my life that I would never trade for anything. It was what a Social Networking was supposed to be. A chance for people to share with one another, something personal, interesting, and clever. Something that wasn’t made for the Lowest Common Denominator. It was a beautiful thing to participate in.
I will miss you all more than you know.
At this point, I would like to point out that this self destruction of SU must be intentional. They have removed virtually everything but the reviews, and the blog aspect was the only reason anyone wrote the goddamn reviews in the first place. You sterilize the blogs and there will be no reviews. Then what is SU? Thumbs up or thumbs down? That’s it. These changes are not stupidity. They are calculated moves, so I ask you; to what end?
The intention is not to enhance our “Stumbling Experience” as they claim, but to destroy the thing and to create an analogous tool with a sounder business model. Money.
Why not just pull the plug outright? Probably contractual obligations to sponsors or investors. Money.
Whatever the specifics, the reasons are clearly a lie, and this great thing is coming to an end, probably to be replaced with something that behaves exactly like this one did when it was good, except eviler. The bottom line: Whoever wants these changes care little for SU and less for the community.
I’ve been trying to start again with a blogspot account, but I confess, I’ve lost my momentum. I hope to hear from some of you through it

I will also continue to use whatever is left of SU and check my messages until the motherfucker finally tanks if for no other reason than to be a nuisance.
This will be my last review and I will be thumbing down everything that isn’t pornography from now on. My only regret is I never reviewed a review of someone’s review of something.
