Puma Punku!

In addition to being incredably fun to say, Puma Punku (POO-MA POON-KOO) is the most mindboggling of all prehistoric ruins. Its the remains of a stoneage city whose central temple was 56 ft high, and took up about 26,896 square ft. It was made up of huge (120 ton) interlocking stone blocks. The Blocks are carved out of some of the hardest stone on earth into completely smooth and straight shapes exact down to the micrometer. Oh yeah, the blocks were dragged to a plateau 12,000 ft high.
Even with today’s technology, it could not have been feasibly done. There is nothing remotely like it spanning the entire recorded history of man. The craziest thing? The whole structure appears to have been flung apart by incredible force.

Researches believe the stones were pulled on sleds by llama skin ropes by pure manpower to the plateau.

Personally I think it’s pretty goddamn arrogant of us to assume the abilities and limitations of people who lived tens of thousands of years ago.

Homo Sapiens (that’s what WE are, ya goddamn mouthbreather) has been walking around killing shit for at least 250,000 years. Am I the only one that finds it completely fucked that it apparently took us 244,300 years to come up with the fucking WHEEL? Are you serious? The thing is, nothing that we made even 100,000 years ago would have lasted to today (except enormous stone temples apparently) the point is: we have no idea how many times we’ve become civilized, how many times we’ve discovered electricity, OR how many times we’ve totally bombed ourselves back to the stoneage.
