This is pretty entertaining, but really, this is just a simplified model of testing that surrounds each and every one of us. After compiling huge lists of what people of every demographic prefer, the powers-that-be are eventually able to predict your every move.
The reason this is not as outlandish as it would at first appear is that it takes little to no sustaining effort to compile the data. Computers can do it, and isolate trends and then analyze them. The trends don’t have to be understood as to why they exist, only to the degree of frequency they are manifested. And that can all be done without human hands being involved. The whole system automated.
This can be done especially seamlessly to anyone who uses the WWW. There is criteria for every personality type out there, consuming habits, sexuality, temper, etc.
As well as other more sinister human catagories, such as: how much stress you will probably take before you lash out on your loved ones. How long in line you will wait before you say “SCREW THIS”. Or if your loyalty can be bought. All of this information, and more, can be easily inferred from one’s web history and it’s naive to think that it isn’t.
By the way this isn’t fiction, and it’s not merely speculation either. These systems are already being used out in the open by many companies hiring people. They won’t deny someone a job based on skin color alone. They will deny you a job because you have green eyes and your favorite fruit and oranges, and their great store of data (commercially available) tells them that green-eyed orange-loving people are unreliable.
So have fun! And I’ll be seeing you inside the walls of the Ministry Of Love.
