That weird fin in the middle just completes the space monster look. I would so totally want one of these for a pet. I don’t even care if it’s a symbol of man’s hubris. And if it grew to huge proportions and I had to conceal the fact that it craved the juice from human hypothalamus glands, I would DOUBLE WANT IT. And I’d name him Lee Marvin Jr.

My critics are wrong to call me dogmatic – Richard Dawkins – RichardDawkins.net

Love the guy, but it’s really a shame we live in a world where a man with Dawkins’ intellect has to defend everything he says in these quasi-philosophic debates with people who have made a mental decision to disregard any light of reason. Dawkins is doing great work but, even dignifying these game-playing creationists by debating with them is ridiculous. Why would you ever have to argue in favor of fact? Especialy with individuals that say your facts are arbitrary and instead adhere to the belief in something that is ultimately intangible and undefinable.
I think the real argument should be over who has the most to gain by keeping people ignorant to the nature of how science and nature work. Because when evolution is understood, many of the seemingly unknowable elements of life become suddenly apparent. Psychology, social science, even government and religion can all be infinitely better understood for what they are if one is familiar with evolutionary principles and applies them. Now, who wouldn’t want us to understand those things? Who would want us to be afraid of the mysteries of life? Who can gain by keeping people from using their brains and keeping them reliant on something else…. something they pay taxes to, for instance?

The perfect gift for the trendy but non-conformist music poser in your life. Illustrates beautifully how even the most independent sounding labels are nothing more but subsidiaries of of the same money grubbing fascists that enforce sterility and serve the dark lord (in the corporate fascist way, not the cool rock out with you cock out heavy metal way).
The concept is simple:
There is a great new scene out there. A “new cool”. I mean these guys are making music that could change the world and start bloody anti-neo-con riots. The MAN sees great money making potential in this “new cool”. So he forms a new label with a vaguely rebellious sounding name like “Mad Max Music” and offers the proponents of this “new cool” a means of getting their angst filled voices heard. Recording contracts are made, money is exchanged, ideals are compromised, and after a brief existence the MAN has sold a newer tamer version of this great “new cool” to the throngs of rebels-without-clues. The revolution is snuffed out before it can begin. And almost poetically, the MAN makes tons of money doing it. Then he saturates all forms of media with this “new cool” to the point where not only does everyone tire quickly of it, the “new cool” quickly becomes a joke or worse, part of the establishment. The man did this to punk, funk, rockabilly, folk, metal, hip-hop hardcore and every other genre or trend out there that sprang up since the 60’s. Hell, the MAN even skipped the middleman in many instances and sewed together and animated such monstrosities as NEW METAL and TEEN IDOLS himself. Long story short, usually by the time it made it to your record player it had already been sterilized of all thought producing fertility, and only the old approved themes of heartache and infatuation were allowed to grow.
