From the page: “Chicago high school student Allen Lee, 18, was arrested and charged with “disorderly conduct” for writing an essay in creative writing class that his teacher found disturbing. He’s also been barred from classes at Cary-Grove High School, where he’s reportedly been a straight-A student. The Chicago Tribune reports that the teacher had “encouraged students to express their emotions through writing.””
Personally I don’t see how anything someone can write can be deemed one iota as distressing as this reaction to writing. I’m sorry, but I believe screaming “bloody murder” or yelling “Fire!” in a theater shouldn’t be against the law. And anyone should at least feel able to WRITE anything they please without fear of retribution. I’m sure it was a creepy threatening narrative; but we let this slide, and tomorrow it’ll be an essay criticizing the status quo that lands the author in jail. What the hell is happening to us? As it is, we can’t even threaten each other anymore. Verbal assault. BULLSHIT! Sticks and stones!

A lot of these “studies” are of dead bodies; not just the ones of obvious dissections in progress, but the ordinary “man smiling” ones too. He used models for EVERYTHING. He must have had bones and cutting instruments all over the place. His studio must have been a freakin’ house of horrors. Can you imagine? Leonardo routinely dissects countless human bodies; Were did they come from? How did he dispose of them? Nobody raises an eyebrow. About 100 years later, Galileo Galilei comes forward with his scientific discoveries concerning celestial bodies…. and they throw his ass in prison.
