THANKS SAFETY! IF I WASN’T WEARING THAT TIN HAT I MIGHT HAVE DIED!
Seriously though, what is up with all the tubes? About half of these pictures feature wierd flesh tubes that I can only guess hold arteries or something. Good god that’ll bring back the shakes…These poor bastards look like they were sewn up by Dr. Rob Zombie or something… FUCK! I need a whiskey after seeing this… hold the glass!
You know what? If I get my face removed by a broken bottle fight or a bong-explosion or something, do me a favor and just leave it off. I’ll wear a metal mask a la Destro and STILL get into the panties. The guy pictured above actually gets fixed up pretty good, in other pictures you see him with a jaw and he looks almost normal… but some of these shrapnal magnets will make your flesh crawl. Seriously if I was this fucked I would go for the Buckethead look.

Safety sucks. Ultimately it only breeds unsafe people. I was nearly electrocuted when I was a tot and now look at me. I’m alive and I have a respect for electricity thats uncommon amongst those raised in safer environments.

In fact, I have a theory that one of the reasons for the “Jackass Effect” is that people are compelled to fill an instinctual norm by actually injecting their lives with semi-dangerous situations. Hey think about it, Homosapiens (and everything that led up to them) evolved in an extreme world devoid of comfort as we know it. It would make total sense that our physiology and psychology would have adapted to anticipate danger and to actually thrive on it. Now with all of this increasingly (and might I add FASCIST safety) we find ourselves living in conditions that are exponentially farther and farther removed from those that nature designed us for. Therefor, this creates an “unfulfillment” of sorts, that I suppose, could manifest itself unconsciously a number of ways ranging from a general ennui to compulsive reckless behavior.

I also believe that this trend is also making us fundamentally weaker as well. The human ability of reasoning and changing our environment has allowed our ancestors to avoid or negate danger to the extent that it is clearly evidenced by our dependence on medicine and our overall flimsiness. There is no animal on Earth as sickly as man. Coming in at a close second would be domesticated dogs (whom we’ve been selectively breeding for nearly as long as we ourselves have been “humans”). No other creature as poor at having young as man. And on and on and on. This is due to how, over the millenia, we’ve had the brain power to save individuals who, under natural circumstances, would have been weeded out by weakness.

What is most disturbing is that these increasingly ANAL safety regulations are really accomplishing nothing more than sparing the lives of fatally stupid people so they can father the next generation.

Safety has its place, but there is definitely a line that’s being crossed. People have to be allowed to die.

Badass of the Week: The Complete List

http://www.badassoftheweek.com/list.html

Love it. An evermore comprehensive list of all of our favorite badasses. Hilarious descriptions that sound more fictitious than they really are. Reads like it was written by Maddox himself, which to me, is one hell of an acomplishment in it’s own right. It isn’t too easy to write in that stream-of-collage-lounge-conversational style that the man himself perfected. Well done shipmate!

Easy to drill too. This is fucking brilliant. Until about a year ago all of my washers were free. It wasn’t until I started paying for them that I realized how ridiculously expensive they are. This is an excellent solution. Also the more money you save drilling coins for washers, the more you help bring up the value of the national standard. WIN WIN.
